Surfer/ snowskater/ innovator

Jeremy makes custom boards he likes to ride, here's a shot of him riding today's swell, on a mini slider he re-shaped. The 'gutless grey' ... Jeremy is the best guy to bounce a new idea off, because his answer is always "that's awesome", especially when he could say, "done that".... Great wave, great guy, cool disc ..

Adjustable Velcro strap, 4mm boydhill snowfoam grip, 5 plys of rockhard maple pressed inhouse

No idea, what makes a good handplane...nick will find out shortly..

Like to thank 'a day at the beach' blog, for posting some pics, kind words, and adding some links...

Luckily, Seasons are changing!!....because there hasn't been much in the way of real waves around here... However ..think some are on their way

Thanks nick for having faith !!

Blue, lime, purple, yellow, and white

Not a huge fan of white tees, but the white and orange tee is pretty cool

All hand screened, right by the molds and presses where the decks are hand pressed (using hydraulics)

Guest Post - Nick C.

(Nick is a surfer/snowskater/skater I met back in 2009 while he was living in Switzerland, he has since moved to China, here is a great email about his current unusual situation ... makes a good read, *hope your cool with a guest editor piece nick?)

Just heading back to LA on the 17th to get some quick surf and visit with family. I haven't had any sort of surfing or skiing experience here in China yet, but by this winter I should get a bunch.

Issues with surfing are mainly getting a board and getting some time to chase a swell. Like this hurricane that is bearing down on Shanghai and the coastline is most definitely going to leave some swell.

I scouted this island called Gongjiadao off of Yintan area. You can find it next to Rushan south of Weihai and north of Qingdao region. If you look at the satellite map you can see a possible pointbreak setup and then this island which has rocky outcroppings which catch some surf. I've got a Russian girlfriend with an apartment up there so I may try to check it out in the future.

My main problem is sourcing a surfboard. So I am trying to get a hold of a Catch Surf "Super One" which I can easily travel with and not worry about damaging. Also I want to get a good handplane. Can you make any by chance? And if you can how much?

In Shanghai I've gotten some skating in, but no real good pictures. The terrain for it is incredible for it and there's a really good skate scene here. With the world's largest skate park and endless street possibilities I'm having fun with it, but its just been too damn hot (over 90+ for 2 months) to do anything. Here's a cool video about skating shanghai.http://pitythecool.com/2011/

Boydhill's BIG mountain board

Boydhill put together a few big mountain powder/resort groomer subs late last season. They were able to pull one off the press just in time to get it up to hurricane ridge event ...where it took first place in the powder downhill. Bryce at Boyd told me that it's design to cruise thru pow onto groomers and back into the pow without a hiccup. He sent one sub over here this summer with a set of Rocker 'Punks' trucks. I mounted to a finished 41" December 'top-deck' and gripped it with boydhill snowfoam. It's headed into a local seasonal surf shop by me for sale. But in the mean time if your looking for a complete like this email December or boydhill and we'll box it up for you..

Deep undercover sneak peak

December superlight puffy coat

.. this past spring a few of us have been discussing outerwear for snowskaters .. ..
This electric blue jacket is crazy soft, not to baggy, and warm , it even has a few bells and whistles; waist cord, headphone loops and iPod pocket, perfect for skating a resort or stashed in your pack while hiking ... This prototype is being tested somewhere in Idaho, if it gets the thumbs up, will post a bunch this fall ..

Thanks for checking in

CANNED FOAM SURFBOARD ($29.00)

..had this idea for awhile, two thin pieces of luan wedged into shape using expandable foam as the buoyant core and the glue.. No need to laminated or cloth, due to the plywood nature of luan (strength and waterproofness) .. Made the blank weeks ago and just let it sit around finally shaped it and used a third can of foam to fill gaps

Today it went well in shorebreak, tracks fine, nice flex, and seemed plenty strong.. The goal was to go cheap and as simple as possible (glassing is such a bear) , so far so good,...adding one last element this week.. Video to come shortly
Closer to snowboard construction then surfboard construction ?
