2 trails to 2 lifts, plenty of rust

Saturday: First day back on snow, plenty of rust and plenty of stoke... Rode a single, a powderskate bi-deck, and a resort bi-deck... Snow was awkward but fun as he'll.. Chance loved the Boyd hill sub, he rode well thru some heavy crud..awesome day to be up in the mountains.. Wearing gloves and a touch screen wasn't working, so no real footage of the day.. Pieced together some stills into a video, will post shortly

Spoke to Bryce over at Boyd hill snowskates and he was raving about a foot and half of snow he had in his backyard !! and Nick in Switerzland emailed me over thanksgiving and wrote about the alps getting dumped on, and also mention that he and friends have been snowskating up a storm already this season ... utah and PNW has been getting hammered so, good luck to all this season!

PREDOG Trucks

...a couple of seasons back Jim @ predog picked up a huge top deck from me. At the time he shared a proto- concept of his new snowskate truck design (you can see photos of it somewhere on this blog)

The other day jim sent over a couple photos of his newest version!!!
He didn't offer any feedback, but by the pictures it looks real solid, and classy...looking foward to stocking a bunch here!!

Good luck Jim!!!

Steve's ( lakeside) skates

... One the most die hard snowskaters in the States emailed me a picture of some of his December gear, in one of the pictures was a board that I believe he made (the pintail with three red strips)...very classic.. I never met Steve, but he's got tons of snowskate passion and his craftsmanship is well beyond the high school years... Thanks for pics stevo, hope your getting snow!

Design library

Here's a FORUM "street dweller" model from three years ago... This board was design without METAL edges...strictly Made for urban snowboard riding in the streets- ...built without excessive topsheet and base materials, .....and a very limited hole pattern, this Super flexy stick is as close to a snowskate (flatdeck) as a snowboard can get... Lots to learn from with this board... it confirms some ideas I believe snowskates can go in the future ..... More to come ...

Toll road! 11/07/10

great video showing some really pretty conditions that are piling up upstate... some of the fresh snow in this clip was from the same storm that produced solid surf for us this weekend..i believe this video was shot on sunday too!!

video was taken by Phil Brown, Phil is the editor of Adirondack Explorer and Adirondack Explorer Outakes blog...an amazing resource for anything happening outdoors in the Adirondacks....

all skiing was taken on a toll road, as the resort is not officially open yet...I haven't been up in that part of the woods since November of last year, but I'm planning on a few trips this season...

Thank's Phil for always answering my questions in the past and for capturing 'winterwonderland' on film already!... i love the streets signs on the descent!!

It snowed today!!!

...11/8/10 not bad, living on the coast is always a crap shoot for snow, but nothing a quick drive can't fix, some winters it dumps right here, either way it's always cold in the winter and the surf stays consistent !

Winter takes alittle longer to make it to the coast... Some signs it's coming soon , windshield is iced over every morning, "skateable" frost on the lawns, web cams are showing natural coverage up in the bigger mountains (very long drive for me) and even a small resort opening next weekend
