skatedeck 8 13/16" x 32"

a quick snap outside the shop in the dark...
....this board needs more graphics...
making one more just like it ...a custom for joe ....at the same dimensions...
Joe C. has been riding semi pro since a kid living in philly (love park) (sponsered by H-street)
surfed indo on his honeymoon, boarded chile or argentina I forget in the nineties, and has an old burton snowskate he rides upstate...got it back in the day when chapman was pressing those decks...
he can flat out skate, he can surf anything but his skating defies effort, I'll shoot some video of him ....over the summer he was dying to skate that december asym....so we talked about making a quiver of skatedecks, this will be the first deck in the quiver...

random shots this past week

old tech textbooks:
if your a young carpenter/woodworker read alot about the work, it makes it easier.....(i have been told by many nail bangers that reading doesn't help, .....they just want you to keep getting their egg sandwiches, read...) cedar and basswood fin...

been a bunch of building days, followed by clean up days this october, not complaining...this day clipped poor jason's wing, he's wearing a sling and watching tv on his airmat...(speedy recovery) (building days have been better)

this sandy pit, gets good with about a foot of snow.....the best part is when there's a foot of snow here, the waves are cranking.........

i apologize for the poor quality of some of the photos...click on them to enlarge....

Zambonie recycler

this weekend:

...Not one to sit around and wait for mother nature to do her thing, Sean K. decided to take matters into his own hands... He and a group of buddies poached some snow from a hockey rink, set up some lights, grabbed a rail, and got their first snowskate session in this season .....love this idea.. He rode a December single deck for the first time on the snow (over the summer he mounted trucks and wheels and street skated it, a december original idea!!) and was happy how it performed... Love the commitment and the ingenuity of this Mass. crew, looking forward to Sean's endeavors this season...

39" 5 channel single with experimental kicks...

..very chill mid-october set-up....

set-up as skateboard..

thanks Sean for the pics.

.....relentless weather these past couple days lead to a few decent surf days this weekend......winter is coming!!!!!

december Demo Day Pics have arrived

Couple of VIDEO FRAME GRABS : from our demo session on labor day week...mikey C. made the trip happen and shot some great video...(thanks for everything mikey)
there was seven of us on the trip:
Highlights from the video was watching brian M.'s smile grow as he rode SWS's air mat to the sand...and my bro. Stevo standing tall on a foamie in one shot and trying to thread the needle in the next....
...this might look like common stance, and a lame wave, but if you been surfing for twenty years like stevo, this looks and I bet feels awesome...he's been battle tested in alot of crazy , huge, cold, sketchy and hawaiian surf places, and my guess he digs this shot too. (on a foamie)

the sequence

right about here steve's mojo started to go south as his ass started to drag...lookout..

the drop.. (two posts about pnuematics in one week..)

choosing the line

the smile

..."thats what's it all about"
great job mike, thanks for footage....(?next year)
waves, time off, and old friends, makes for a classy trip...cheers
