Finished and Headed Out. 27.5" x7" (waiting for snow series)

...this asymmetrical skateboard is finally gripped and gone. It caught some good press allowing december to make it to the blogging big time.
...designed, pressed, and shaped by hand with a healthy little kick, comfy concaves and just enough grip for some summertime barefoot crusing..whether its for dawn surf checks, dropping into local bowls, or just pedaling up to the store killing time until the first snow drops...its super light and as strong as a rock or rock maple!...not sure what the asym part does, my guess its a goofyfooters dream.

Kirk at Foam and Function and A Day At the Beach blog posted a quick piece on it. Thank You Kirk....

production notes
working on wheel wells for steve n.h.'s dry land board
...we had such damp rainy weather the past few weeks, its been difficult to seal boards, (the marine spar stays tacky) but things are going well. I hope everyone else is getting better weather....I heard Tuckerman's is "closed" for the season, but I have been there in late june and early july before, and there seemed to be plenty of snow...maybe its time to take a trip in a week or two.. I have a couple ideas I would love to check test out....might have to hike four hours to see if they'll work ...

..broke the bottle jack press just after pressing this one last week..it's amazing what a 8 ton jack can do to a 4x4 post....got a good lead on another press so I should be pressing decks by mid-week....much more info on this deck to follow (red stripe)

violet mist is the name of this paint...

found some really skinny xbands'... but their just long enough for a street deck...so had to pin on another six more inches to make fit LSS 42" deck...

...cross band is 1/20 of an inch thick...real nice stuff...

great weather and fun waves this weekend....need a repeat

Back to Production

there has been tons of waves lately (lots of playtime)... but thankfully the latest materials have arrived and its time to finish up production for winter/spring 2009 season...

There will be enough maple left for a custom deck if anyone is interested in a very late season snowskate or deck...let me know, also I should be getting a small order of wood in june for some 70's style skate decks, which will be available over the summer...and a very large order of maple for july to begin making snowskates and a couple of new prototypes for the upcoming late fall/early winter 2009 season...

not sure which direction the blog's gonna go in the next couple of months, should it take a rest or go "full steam ahead"?... heres' a pic of new maple veneers...very stoked, new prototype photos coming soon... as usual I hope everyone is getting quality riding conditions too, and feel free to add a comment..haha

Welcome SEAN K.

.................SEAN "the Primordia" shot me an email with interest in joining the december team....to make a long story short, Sean will be riding for december. We are stoked... this ripper has an excellent attitude...Sean was recently featured in the "Primordia" segment of Starfish Magazine April Fool Issue...and to make it even a smaller world my own father as a wee grom grew up a few streets down from him...good karma... looking foward to seeing more of Sean in the magazines in the future....
.....I would quickly like to thank steve LSS for his feedback and help in development these past couple of months, those thinner veneeers I custom ordered for your next deck should be coming in a week from tomorrow stevo...more to come...
