...posted Joe riding a bi-deck snowskate the other day, here's Sean riding a SINGLE snowskate... for those who aren't fimilar with snowskating, there are quite a few types of snowskates, all based on two different styles: Singles and Bi-decks.. Singles are simple 'skate-deck' like boards that ride on snow anywhere, however "singles" are not accepted by most resorts, so they are used in urban settings...Bi-decks snowskates are usually bigger, they have a larger then normal skateboard deck (top-deck) mounted to a sub-deck or "ski" with metal edges that does all the edging on the snow...these are widely accepted by ski resorts as long as a leash is involved...both are a pisser....its worth trying both and to have both types in your winter quiver...sorry if i'm preaching to choir..thanks for clip Sean ...looked like fun
Sean's riding a custom december snowskate at about 38" x 9" with a sintered base and three channels
PS there are POWDER versions of both too....

filed under: No Way
Sean sent this pic in the other day, its a shot of his personal snowgun.....after receiving pictures of him robbing ice rinks of their zambonie shavings' to skate back in october, i knew he was serious about snow...... seany team has his own snowmaker...crazy...nicely done sean......ps i want one..
.

here's two shots of his team deck after the sintered base has been applied, just needs to be trimmed, sanded, sealed, and gripped.

Lastly, here's a package I've been waiting on forever..... It's four way stretch polartec fleece. This fleece will be divided up and sewn into snowskate board socks....a board sock is a low maintence bag that you slide your skate into and drawstring close...designed to protect your skate, and keep your car or truck clean after a snowy wet session ...so soft and comfy feeling

The flat deck has been treating me well, even though I have just had small ice rink snow sessions. This is just a shot of messing around on a little kicker.
take it easy man hope you get some snow."

Zambonie recycler
this weekend:
...Not one to sit around and wait for mother nature to do her thing, Sean K. decided to take matters into his own hands... He and a group of buddies poached some snow from a hockey rink, set up some lights, grabbed a rail, and got their first snowskate session in this season .....love this idea.. He rode a December single deck for the first time on the snow (over the summer he mounted trucks and wheels and street skated it, a december original idea!!) and was happy how it performed... Love the commitment and the ingenuity of this Mass. crew, looking forward to Sean's endeavors this season...
39" 5 channel single with experimental kicks...

..very chill mid-october set-up....

MAPLES WAX

....RECIEVED a great email the other day from Sean up in Ocean Bluff...
here's a clip of it (Really love this story)
..."Hey Kevin, I have a pretty cool story, so my buddy that I go to...........He made these bars of wax to wax up the bottom of your board, snowskate, skis. Anyway he just did it for fun,... Well make a long story short, he started selling these bars of wax out of his pocket in line for chairlifts and at ski resorts when we go to mountains. so he started making more, made a name for his "company", made a website, and just recently he actually got his wax on shelves at local shops including a surf shop, a ski shop, and he is still talking to another board shop and ski market. So now were actually trying to get this wax out there for fun, so I just wanted to say check out the site, or maybe put a link on your site, that would be super cool. The name of it is Maples Wax. Its actually really cool, I used it on my snowskate all last season.
Hope all is well, I am starting to count down the day til winter,
-Sean "
--thanks Sean
looking foward to testing some out
