Sacred. Boardshop New paltz,NY

...met Cliff last weekend at his shop 'sacred' in the "rad" rock climbing/ college town of New Platz.. Alot has changed in that area except for the vibe, which has always been chill. But I do miss that dude who was so hippie he wore just animal skins!!
Cliff's shop had straight up mojo, and I was stoked a December powder skate "asym" made the cut. Stop by 'sacred' to check out latest in board riding gear, talked to Cliff and even kick the tires on the old 'asym' !!

As the quote on their business card says, "how deep is your love?"

Super sidenote: their calling snow for this region on Sunday. Something like 5" at 3k mark in the catskills! Saynora september..

Good sign

....found this 'noboard' pic thumbing thru the new winter 2011 Patagonia catalog that came in mail today, .... Cool to see strapless pics making it into more mainstream media.. Great picture, even better tail, and he's wearing a leash, which means his feet are free, or could be a no board strap.. Either way it's a beautiful shot!! Photo credits are in next post..

Don't be the last on your block without a bindingless stick in your quiver.. :)

No lift lines

My brother sent these pics in the other day of a set of (300$) approach skiis he whacked in half and set with fittings so they can be broken down to fit insides his backpack...... He doesn't own a snowskate yet!
Take a break from tickets, lift lines, and cumbersome snowboards.

Those bindings accepts sneakers.. Berwin bindings- since the 1940's

Couple of shop pics From Boydhill

Bryce sent in a couple pics yesterday, of their molds getting rearranged in the shop.. That's sneva manufacturing's guru (TJ) over seeing what stays and what goes... Anyone who owns a boydhill snowskate, or a boydhill/ December snowskate, is very stoked, because TJ might have the most years under his belt pressing sticks, out of all the manufactures in the game today ....

Flat deck

..working on a few surf inspired single deck snowskates.. This one has been quickly roughed out, needs some router action on base before ptex gets laminated on.. Post more pics in a week or two..

Lib-tech

> ...Checking out lib-tech website and notice a clean shot of their snowskate on one of the splash-page photos .. They been making skates for years ... There is a great Starfish article about mike olson (co-founder of lib.) back in feb of 2009, he's got a very positive take on snowskates .. Worth a re-read..

the Beacon Theatre

..they worlded premiered the movie 'the art of flight' at the beacon in NYC the other night.. What a crazy venue to launch a new snow flick!! If you haven't been to the beacon theater, just imagine Madison square garden having a love child with CBGB . The place has soul. ... Must have been epic .. Flick looks good too!

The PUZZLE pieces are starting to come together

Whether you love surf contests or hate them, it's hard not to check wave forecasts when they come around.. And this one is a big one.. I thought the Tudor duct tape invitational was a big deal in montauk last year, but quiksilver pro NY is a monster, largest prize money ever and some solid hurricane surf marching up, who knows, the script could be a best seller, (it could even go flat) at least manhattan and the Yankees, giants, knicks, mets and jets are still here if our surf egos take a blow! There will always be surf and snow in NY, and everywhere else for that matter, so don't just surf, try skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, snowskating, and you'll never get down when seasons change...
